Behler-Young, Michigan’s largest wholesale distributor of HVAC products, is currently seeking an experienced Territory Manager for the Grand Rapids area who has a “Whatever It Takes” attitude to customer service. Primary focus will be to travel within geographic territory to solicit orders and promote sales growth with assigned customers and prospect for new accounts.
The Territory Manager is responsible to:
Determine product, sales, business and sales training, and service needs of assigned and potential commercial and residential contractors/dealers.
Develop Annual Business Proposal with each Customer. Identify key programs (Technical, Business, and Sales & Marketing) that will be implemented to achieve Customer & TM annual sales and profit targets.
Develop Sales Management Plans for target customers.
Build relationships with assigned customers to ensure products we represent are purchased from Behler-Young.
Manage the quoting and purchasing process on Customer Projects (Heavy emphasis on Commercial Mechanical Contractors).
Implement Behler-Young marketing programs.
Communicate needs, concerns and opportunities of customers to appropriate individuals and departments within Behler-Young.
Keep up to date on technical and product innovation, competitive developments, industry trends and Behler-Young marketing plans.
Qualified candidates will have:
A high school diploma with college education or trade training preferred.
A minimum of three years’ experience in outside product sales in wholesale HVAC/R. Technical HVAC/R skills preferred.
Demonstrated experience and understanding of the commercial contracting business, the products they use, and solutions you have provided.
Proven strong sales, customer service, communication, interpersonal, problem solving, leadership and team skills.
