JB Industries is proud to announce a distribution partnership with NOVENT to provide refrigerant locking caps to the HVAC/R market. NOVENT was created by industry professionals after evidence of refrigerant theft, many times resulting in brain damage or death, after inhaling or "huffing" refrigerant. NOVENT created the original tamper resistant refrigerant locking caps for the service valve on all air conditioning and mini split systems. NOVENT caps are patented and precisely machined from high grade brass and encompassed within a protective refrigerant color-coded aluminum casing. These caps are corrosion resistant and have an O-ring seal to provide a positive back-up for leaking service valves. The caps are secured on to a unit with a special key sold only to certified HVAC technicians and provide a tamper resistant barrier to reduce theft, vandalism, and the accidental mixing of refrigerant. NOVENT supports all EPA Management Programs. The use of refrigerant locking caps has been added to the 2009 IMC (international Mechanical Code) and 2009 IRC (International Residential Code) for installation on all exposed refrigeration units to help prevent unauthorized access. IAPMO also adopted the code in 2011. The products are a must for companies and technicians to comply with local codes as well as liability concerns connected with refrigerants.
